IN UNIFORM
Gordon E. Woolridge, machinist’s mate second class, has been assigned to shore duty at Treasure Island, California, after spending a 30-day leave with his wife and baby and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. J.R. Woolridge, 2111 Mckinley Street. His ship, the USS Longshaw, was lost in action off Okinawa. In service since September 1940, Woolridge took part in the Solomon, Marshall, Marianas and Philippines Island, Formosa, Iwo Jima and Okinawa campaigns and wears stars for nine engagements on his service ribbons.
