VETERAN
Staff Sgt. Thurley T. Wood, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Wood of this city, is now stationed at Camp Carson, Colo., as an instructor. A veteran of 18 years service, Sergeant Wood has served for seven years in Hawaii and for 11 years at Fort Benning, Ga. He was transferred to Colorado in April.

Thurley Thomas Wood was born Aug. 6, 1905 to Bert Oliver and Iva Myers Wood. He died Jan. 28, 1983 and is buried in Newport Cemetery, Newport, WA.
Seaman First Class Wood served in the Coast Guard during World War II.
