Bernard Erwin Swift was born Oct. 19, 1920 to Bryan and Ethel Leota Caldwell Swift. He died July 25, 1944 and is buried in Elm Grove Cemetery, Washington, IA.
Pvt. Swift served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and died as the result of an automobile accident as he was being taken to the air base at Sioux Falls, SD after furlough at home.
