Receives Discharge After Seven Years
Clarence E. Spencer, Jr., son of the late Clarence E. Spencer, Sioux City fire department lieutenant, has been honorably discharged from the United States navy at the naval personnel separation center, naval at station, Minneapolis, Minnesota, after seven years of service.
Mr. Spencer is a veteran of nearly 50 months overseas duty during his seven years of service. At the time of his discharge he was a boatswain’s mate second class. He last saw service on the U.S.S. Langley, aircraft carrier. Campaign bars held by Mr. Spencer include the American defense, European theater of operations and American theater.
With his wife and daughter, he is living at the home of his wife’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Claude B. Lewis, Sr, 2625 W. Third Street.
