80 Kossuth Men Officially Listed As Casualties In War
FIRST RELEASE OF STATE HISTORICAL DEATH SUMMARIES
Eighty men from Kossuth county lost their lives while in the service of their country in World War II.

James Franklin Schoby was born Oct. 18, 1919 to Chester Raymond and Myrtle Grace Brown Schoby. He died Jan. 10, 1944 and is buried in Riverview Cemetery, Algona, IA.
Lt. Schoby served his country in the U.S. Navy and was KIA in the Atlantic war zone. He is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, East Coast Memorial, New York City, NY. He was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross.
