Robert Vance Rannells was born Dec. 9, 1918 to William Culbertson and Adah Pearl Crow Rannells. He died Apr. 1, 1945 and is memorialized at the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii and has a cenotaph in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Dunlap, IA.
Sgt. Rannells served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 498th Bomb Group (VH) and was MIA/KIA in Saipan.
