John E. Nelson died Dec. 15, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Pvt. Nelson served in World War II with the U.S. Army 104th Infantry Regiment, 26th Infantry Division and died in the service of his country and was awarded the Purple Heart.
