MURDOCK - Word has been received of the death of Nelson Junior Murdock at Nambour, Queensland, Australia on June 20, 1972.
Born near Gilman, Jasper County, he lived the early part of his life at University Park and was graduated in 1938 from Oskaloosa High School.
Following his graduation, he lived with his family on a farm near Gilman and then served in the Air Force in World War II in Australia and New Guinea.
He was married to Margaret Grey in Australia during the service and after his return to the United States attended Iowa State University in Ames. One child Mrs. Toni Murdock Hancock of Kumbia, Qndlnd, Australia, was born in the United States. The family moved to Australia in 1949 and Vickie Murdock was born there.
Surviving with his wife and two daughters are his father the Rev. Nelson D. Murdock, rt. 2, Gilman and two sisters Mrs. D.W. (Carol) Garrett, Eureka and Mrs. John (Maxiene) Halbloom, rt. 2, Gilman.
