Wayne E. McKinney was born Jan. 30, 1923 to Robert C. and Grace I. Jackson McKinney. He died July 14, 1945 and is buried in Palo Alto Cemetery, Newton, IA.
Lt. McKinney served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps and was one of thirteen airmen killed when U.S. Army Air Corps B-29 Super-fortress #44-86329 crashed while landing at Kirtland Army Airfield near Albuquerque, NM.
