J.S. M’Donald Now Is Major
Guard Officer Receives Notification of His Promotion
John S. McDonald, 2817 Jennings Street, has received notice of his promotion from the rank of captain to that of major in the Iowa National guards.
Maj. McDonald’s promotion is effective as of August 19. He will serve as supply officer for the 133d regiment. Heretofore he has been regimental adjutant.
Maj. McDonald enlisted in the guard as a private 22 ½ years ago. He advanced through the various grades as a noncommissioned officer and on October 25, 1923, was commissioned as a second lieutenant.
