IN UNIFORM
Patrick G. Martin, seaman second class, is spending a short leave with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde R. Martin, 3321 Athlone Avenue. Seaman Martin has had three and one-half years’ service in the Pacific on the USS Kane, destroyer; the USS Richman, cruiser and the USS Puget Sound, aircraft carrier. He participated in major campaigns at Okinawa, Guam, Saipan and the Philippines. Seaman Martin has the E.T.O. and Asiatic-Pacific ribbons with the Philippines liberation bar, one silver star and seven bronze stars. He will leave November 2 for Bremerton, Washington where he expects to receive his discharge.
