New Hampton—Lt. Merlin Lynch, a member of the army air force, has sent a cablegram to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Lynch, New Hampton, advising them that he had completed his missions and would be home soon.

Joseph Merlin “Merlin” Lynch was born July 9, 1920 to Leo and Nellie Clara Lensing Lynch. He died June 13, 1966 and is buried in Resurrection Cemetery, Lenexa, KS.
Capt. Lynch served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 863rd Bomb Squadron, 493rd Bomb Group.
