Vern Joseph “Whitey" Lowman was born June 21, 1922 to Samuel Henry and Vera Adrian Carpenter Lowman. He died June 8, 1944 and is buried in Cambridge American Cemetery, Cambridge, England.
Sgt. Lowman served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 854th Bomber Squadron, 491st Bomber Group, Heavy and was KIA in England and awarded the Purple Heart.
