Estate of Sioux City Flier Filed
Includes Interest in Tribune Company and Printing Firm
Letters in the estate of Gardner Hill Kelly, believed lost in action with the royal Canadian air force, were filed Wednesday in district court.
Mrs. Mildred Kelly, mother of the aviator, was named administratrix of the estate.
The estate, according to the letter, consisted of personal effects and “an interest of undetermined value of the Tribune Company and the Sioux City Printing company.”
The letter recited that Gardner Hill Kelly was “reported to have met his death during operations protecting a convoy” last November 19 “off the island of Malta.”

Gardner Hill Kelly, Jr. was born Mar. 24, 1921 to Gardner Hill (Sr.) and Mildred Keefe Kelly. He died Nov. 19, 1942 and is buried in Malta Memorial, Malta.
Pilot Officer Kelly served with the Royal Canadian Air Force, 126th Squadron in World War II.
