Sgt. Paul B. Jones

 

IOWA HONOR ROLL

These Iowans, like those pictured in this section in previous weeks, have given their lives for their country. All have been killed in combat or have died in prison camps. The fourth line under each name shows where the man last served.

Paul Bernard Jones was born Aug. 25, 1920 to Fred G. and Ethel Annis Jones. He died Feb. 22, 1944 and is buried in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii. He was initially buried in the 22nd Marines Temporary Cemetery Eniwetok and returned to the U.S. in 1949.

Platoon Sgt. Jones served in World War II with the U.S. Marine Corps 22nd Marines and was KIA during assault landing on Parry Island.
