James Herzberg was born Jan. 4, 1919 to Mortimer and Fannie Thanhauser Herzberg. He died Apr. 6, 1945 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery and Memorial, Saint Avold, France.
Sgt. Herzberg served in World War II with the U.S. Army 43rd Tank Battalion, 12th Armored Division. He was KIA and awarded the Purple Heart.
