John M. Hoffmann was born Dec. 4, 1908 to Henry and Lena H. Jones Hoffmann. He died Jan. 2, 1944 and was buried in the Kalaikunda Cemetery in India and later reinterred in the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific, Honolulu, Hawaii.
Major Hoffman served with the Co. B, 350th Infantry, 88th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army Air Corps in World War II.
