Delbert Merwin Hicks was born July 4, 1916 to R. N. and Ethel Seavey Hicks. He died Jan. 27, 1944 and is buried in Oak Grove Cemetery, Clarinda, IA.
Sgt. Hicks served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 775th Bomb Squadron and died in an airplane crash in French Morocco, Africa while in the service of his country.
