Edward Fitzgerald, Jr. was born Mar. 11, 1923 to Edward R. (Sr.) and Juanita Fitzgerald. He died Nov. 24, 1945 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Henri-Chapelle American Cemetery, Hombourg, Belgium.
Lt. Fitzgerald served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 15th Squadron, 61st Troop Carrier Command and was MIA/KIA/FOD as a member of a C-47 (Skytrain) aircraft which was engaged in a cargo mission from an airfield at Paris, France, to Barkston Heath in Lincolnshire, England. The plane failed to arrive either at its destination or its base. He was awarded the Air Medal.
