IN UNIFORM.
Cpl. William V. Edgcumbe, son of Mrs. Violet Edgcumbe, 1609 Pierce Street, has been awarded a combat Star to be worn on his Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon for his part in the battle for Bougainville in the northern Solomons. He has been overseas for 19 months and is an expert instrument repairman with an ordnance company where he works at repairing all types of fire control instruments. Cpl. Edgcumbe is a graduate of Central High School.
