Raymond Conklin, aka Bud Wood, served with the U.S. Navy in World War II. “Bud” served on aircraft carriers and was stationed for a time on Guam, Guadalcanal, the Solomon Islands and various other naval bases.
Shortly after discharge from the Navy he joined the U.S. Army Air Corps. He died Sept. 1950 when his plane crashed in Cook Inlet near Anchorage, Alaska.
