George Delbert Clark was born Feb. 28, 1921 to Ivor Wallace and Agnes E. Smith Clark. He died Mar. 21, 1944 and is buried in Winterset City Cemetery, Winterset, IA.
Lt. Clark served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 19th Combat Crew Training Squadron from Pyote Army Airfield, TX. He was one of seven airmen killed when B-17F Flying Fortress #42-5993 crashed near Bandera, TX during a training flight.
