Kenneth served with both the U.S. Army Air Corps and U.S. Navy.
Christianson rites to be held in Jewell
Jewell — Kenneth Christianson, 46, a former county attorney of Hamilton county, died this morning at the Veterans hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient since Apr. 2.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at Bethesda Lutheran church with the Rev. Norbert Jolivette officiating and with burial in Evergreen cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Becker Funeral home until 1 p.m. when it will be taken to the church.
Kenneth Christianson, son of Tony and Louise Howland Christianson, was born July 23, 1921, at Lake Wilson, Minn. He was graduated from Jewell high school with the class of 1939 and attended Iowa State University at Ames for two years. He then enlisted in the U.S. Air Corps and received an appointment to the U.S. Naval Academy from where he was graduated in 1945. After serving two years in the Navy, he attended the University of Michigan law school where he was graduated in August, 1950.
He practiced law in Jewell for 18 years and served as Hamilton county attorney for two two-year terms. He had also served on the Jewell school board and was a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Bethesda Lutheran church.
He was married to Shirley Warren and six children were born to this union: Michael, a John Hopkins student at Baltimore, Md., Jeffrey, Melinda, Timothy, Patrick and Jonathan Karl, all of Jewell; his mother, Mrs. Louise Christianson of Ames; and one sister, Mrs. Alfred Stout of Jewell.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Military services will be held at graveside.
Mr. Christianson was a member of the Hamilton County and the Iowa State Bar associations.
