Floyd LaVerne Carter was born Aug. 30, 1924 to William Henry and Eva Blanche Smith Carver. He died May 13, 1995 and is buried in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Cresco, IA.
Floyd served in World War II with the U.S. Army H & S Company, 721st Railway Operating Battalion.
