Lowell Francis ‘Bud' Caquelin was born Nov. 12, 1919 to Henry Gustave and Betty J. Caquelin. He died Oct. 24, 1984 and is buried in the French Church Cemetery, Woolstock, IA.
Corp. Caquelin served with the U.S. Army in World War II with the 1967th Service Command Unit.

Funeral services for Lowell (Bud) Caquelin, 64, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Foster Funeral Home with the Rev. Charles Hawkins officiating and with burial in the French cemetery near Woolstock.
Graveside flag-folding services will be conducted by the American Legion Post 191.
Mr. Caquelin died last Wednesday evening at the Iowa Lutheran hospital in Des Moines where he had been a patient for four days and in ill health the past five months.
Lowell Francis Caquelin, son of John and Cecile Sadler Caquelin, was born Nov. 12, 1919 at Woolstock and was educated in that community.
On Dec. 7, 1940 he was united in marriage to Betty Norman at Fort Dodge. The couple resided in California where he was employed at Consolidated Volte Aircraft Mfg. After returning to Webster City, he served in the U.S. Army MP’s from 1944-1946. For 12 years he was employed with Walter Raven in construction work and for several years he had owned and operated the Caquelin Construction Co.
He is survived by his wife, Betty, one son and two daughters, Errol Caquelin of Fort Dodge, Darlene Follett of Webster City and Mrs. Russell (Donna) Bristol of Stanhope, five grandchildren, Lisa Caquelin, Darcey Follett, Jeremy, Brand and Cameron Bristol, two brothers and three sisters, Maynard and Donald Caquelin, both of Woolstock, Mrs. Lynn (Shirley) Sorenson, Goldfield, Mrs. Melvin (JoAnn) Biggs of Webster City and Mrs. Ivan (Phyllis) Huffman of Donnegan, Mo.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 191; the Iowa Great Lakes Fishing Club and Muskies Inc.
