Salix, Iowa – Special: Private First Class George Bouvia was seriously wounded in action in North Africa area May 6, according to information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Bouvia of Salix, from the adjutant general.

George Charles Bouvia was born Mar. 4, 1914 to Charles and Johanna Madsen Bouvia. He died Oct. 29, 1960 and is buried in Saint Josephs Cemetery, Salix, IA.
Pvt. Bouvia served with the U.S. Army 134th Infantry in World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star.
