Charles M. Brown, son of Mrs. Cecile Brown, of this city, is receiving his initial naval indoctrination at the U.S. naval training center at Great Lakes. Brown graduated last May from Lincoln high school here.

Charles Mason Brown was born Apr. 21, 1927 to Charles Earl ‘Earl’ and Cecile Daniels Brown. He died Dec. 28, 1967 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

C.M. BROWN DIES SUDDENLY IN BURLINGTON
Charles M. Brown, 40, a former Webster City resident and the son of Mrs. Cecile Brown of this city, died suddenly Thursday at his home in Burlington, Iowa. His death was attributed to a heart attack.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. S.W. Cunn officiating and with burial in Graceland Cemetery.
Charles Mason Brown, son of Earl and Cecile Daniels Brown, was born April 21, 1927, at Fort Dodge. When he was five years old, he moved with his parents to Webster City and attended the Webster City schools. Following his graduation from high school in 1945, he joined the U.S. Navy and was stationed at Seattle, Wash. Following his discharge from the service, he returned to Webster City and attended junior college for one year. He was later graduated from Central college, Pella, Iowa.
For the past several years, he had been employed at the Iowa Army ammunition plant at Burlington as a chemist in the development department of the atomic enery division at the plant.
He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Cecile Brown, Webster City; one sister, Mrs. Gerald (Barbara) Ritthaler of Madison, N.J.; two nephews and one niece, Daniel, Elizabeth and John Ritthaler; his grandmother, Mrs. Mary E. Brown of Webster City;
and several aunts and uncles.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1931.
Mr. Brown was a member of the Methodist church at Burlington.
