Bourne Services Will Be Sunday At Vinton, Iowa

Funeral services for Russell Bourne, 46, former Ellsworth resident, killed Thursday night in a tornado near Mount Auburn, Iowa, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Vinton.

The services will be at the Fry and Holland Funeral home with burial in the Vinton Cemetery.

Bourne, a brother of Miss Edna Bourne of Webster City, lost his life when a tornado hit the farm home which he had recently sold to Mr. and Mrs. Willard Wallace. Bourne had planned to move to Moberly, Mo., to make his home. Other members of the family escaped death by fleeing to the basement as the storm hit, but Bourne, slowed by a foot injury, was unable to get to the basement in time.

Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Bourne of Scottsdale, Ariz., cousins of Russell Bourne, have been visiting with relatives at Blairsburg. They plan to accompany Miss Edna Bourne to the services Sunday.

Mrs. Margaret Cormaney of this city is a cousin of Russell Bourne.

Among the injured persons in the storm was Janet Bourne, a niece of Russell Bourne, and a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glen Bourne of Lincoln, Neb. She had been visiting with the family.
