Killed in Auto Accident

Tragedy that struck while a soldier was being accompanied back to Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri from Correctionville, claimed the lives of the four Correctionville persons. They are Corporal LeRoy F. Boettger, 21; his father, Fred Boettger, 59; the soldier’s uncle, William Boettger, 61, and his sister, Miss Mabel Boettger, 23. The only survivor of the accident is Mrs. Fred Boettger, 61, who is in Moberly, Missouri hospital. The accident occurred near there when the car driven by William Boettger collided with a truck. Mrs. Boettger is reported to be improving.

Plan Rites For Crash Victims

Funeral services for 4 Members of Family Set Friday


Funeral services for four members of the Boettger family of Correctionville, all injured fatally when a car driven by William Boettger collided with a truck at Moberly, Missouri, will be held in the Correctionville Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday.

Officiating will be Rev. Robert Forrester and Rev. Philip Hahn.

Fred Boettger, the father; his daughter Mabel and his son, Corporal LeRoy Boettger, will be buried in the Correctionville Cemetery. William Boettger will be buried in the Holstein, Iowa, cemetery.

Munford post 79 of the American Legion will conduct the military rite for LeRoy Boettiger. The Odd Fellows will have charge of the graveside services for William Boettger.

In charge of arrangements is the Wilson-Hull Funeral Home of Correctionville.
