Navy Reports One Sioux Cityan Dead, Another Wounded
One Sioux Cityan was reported dead and another, wounded according to a Navy department announcement Friday. Pfc. Donald D. Mock, previously reported wounded, was now reported dead. He had been listed as a casualty January 21.

D.W. Blom, 19, hospital apprentice first class, was injured July 24, according to information received by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. B. A. Blom, 1501 Riverside Boulevard. He was a graduate from Central High School and attended Riverside grade and West junior schools. He entered service June 27, 1943 and had been serving in the Pacific.

For wounds suffered July 22, in the Asiatic Pacific area, Dale Warren Blom, pharmacist third class Marine Corps, has been awarded the purple heart. He is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bradnera Blom, 1501 Riverside Boulevard. Pharmacist Blom has recovered and returned to his unit, his parents have been informed.
