John Biggs, 82, Webster City, died Sunday, March 11, 2001 at the Hamilton Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral Home, with Rev. BIll Keller officiating. Burial will be in the Graceland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday and prior to services on Wednesday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by American Legion Post #191.
John Harmous Biggs, son of William and Ruea Peddycoart Biggs, was born Sept. 25, 1918 at Mountain Lake, Minn. He attended rural schools in that area. During W.W. II, he served with the U.S. Army—Company E—133rd Infantry—Red Bull Division in the European and African Theatres. On March 14, 1947, he married Inez Love Jacobson at Bethany, Mo. The couple resided in Webster City. He was employed in road maintenance for the state of Iowa in Hamilton County. He retired in 1981. Mrs. Biggs died March 13, 1992. He continued to reside in Webster City.
He is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Marvin and Carol Jacobson, Grant Junction, Colo., Wendell and Pat Jacobson, Blairsburg, Michael and Sharon Biggs of Webster City, daughters and son-in-law, Pat and Denny Teig of Omaha, Neb., Betty Seaboch, Boone; 4 grandchildren, 10 step-grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, 17 step-great-grandchildren; 1 step great-great-grandchild; brother, Melvin Biggs, Webster City; sister, Cleo Waalk, Des Moines; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Marilyn Peterson, son-in-law, Lyle Seaboch, grandson, Randy Seaboch, brothers, Tom and Marvin Biggs.

Pvt. Biggs served with the U.S. Army in World War II with Battery A, 386th Field Artillery Battalion.

Harold Biggs dies; Rites on Wednesday
Harold (Tom) Biggs, 48, a longtime Webster City resident, died Friday evening at the Hamilton County hospital following a brief illness.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster Funeral home with the Rev. A. E. Rau officiating and with burial in the Cass Center Cemetery where graveside military rites will be held.
Harold Thomas Biggs, son of William and Ruea Biggs, was born July 31, 1922 at Mountain Lake, Minn. When he was a year old, he moved with his parents to Iowa, locating near Stratford. The family later moved to Webster City where he was reared and educated.
He enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1942 and served during World War II in the European war theater.
He was married March 13, 1946 to Clara Thompson, and the couple had always since resided in Webster City. Mr. Biggs was employed for 15 years a a roofer, the past two years being self-employed.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters and three sons: Mrs. Jack (Penny) Capretz and Millie Biggs, Tommy Biggs all of Webster City, William Biggs of Woodward and Gary Biggs, serving in the U.S. Army.
He is also survived by three grandchildren, Anita, Jimmy and Joe Capretz; his mother, Mrs. William Larson of Webster City; three brothers and one sister, John Biggs, Melvin Biggs and Marvin Biggs, all of Webster City, and Mrs. Eugene (Cleo) Hood of Des Moines, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one son, Danny, his father, two brothers, one sister and a granddaughter.
Mr. Biggs was a member of the Methodist church and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Marvin Eugene Biggs was born Feb. 20, 1926. He died Apr. 27, 1993 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Webster City, IA.

He is survived by daughters, Judy Nieman of Britt, Jane Danger of Buckeye, Shelly Moss of Stanhope, Roxanne Moore of Fort Dodge; Son, Terry of Webster City; 9 grandchildren; 3 g-grandchildren; brothers, John and Melvin, both of Webster City; sister, Cleo Hood of Runnels; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife in 1983, his parents; granddaughter, Heather Moore; and step father, Rudy Larson.
