Joseph Ezra ‘Joe’ Bickford was born Sept. 25, 1921 to Lloyd Ezra and Louisa K. Moose Bickford. He died Sept. 11, 1972 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery, Webster City, IA.
Cpl. Bickford served with the U.S. Army in World War II.

Joseph E. Bickford, 50, longtime Webster City area resident, died Monday afternoon at the Veteran’s hospital in Des Moines where he had been admitted earlier in the day. He had been in ill health for the past two years.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church with Father Edgar Kurt officiating. Burial will be in Calvary cemetery with a flag folding ceremony conducted by American Legion Post 191. Rosary will be said Wednesday evening at eight o’clock at the Foster Funeral home.
Joseph Ezra Bickford, son of Lloyd and Louisa K. Moose Bickford, was born Sept. 25, 1921, at Webster City. He was reared and educated in Webster City, graduating from Webster City high school in 1940. He served with the U.S. Army during World War II, spending time in the Philippines.
He was united in marriage May 31, 1950 to Dolores Ruhl, and the couple had always made their home on a farm 10 miles south of Webster City.
He is survived by his wife; his mother, Mrs. Louisa Bickford of Webster City; one sister and two brothers, Mrs. Helen Murphy of Webster City, Robert Bickford of Riverside, Calif., and Richard Bickford of Webster City. He was preceded in death by his father.
He was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic church, American Legion Post 191 and the Elks lodge.
