Mr. and Mrs. Lester Bell have received word from their son, Private George Bell that he is convalescing in a hospital in England from wounds received in the legs and back on invasion day on the coast of Normandy, France. Private Bell is an infantryman and is a grandson of the late Jonathan Bell of Pierson, who was a Union soldier stood in line when Gen. Grant took his first command in the Civil War.
