Kenneth John Becker was born Feb. 5, 1913 to Peter and Ida E. Seiler Becker. He died Nov. 6, 1986 and is buried in Evergreen Cemetery, Jewell, IA.
Petty Officer Becker served with the U.S. Navy in World War II with the Hospital Corps in Great Lakes, IL and Norman, OK and with the Shore Patrol in Oklahoma City, OK.

Jewell — Funeral services for Kenneth J. Becker, 73, will be held Monday, Nov. 10, at 10:30 a.m. at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Jewell with Fr. Louis Zee officiating. Burial will be in the Evergreen Cemetery at Jewell.
Mr. Becker died Nov. 6 at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. He was the owner of the Becker Funeral Home in Jewell.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon and evening. A Scripture service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
Kenneth J. Becker, the son of Peter and Ida Seiler Becker, was born Feb. 5, 1913 at Garner. On Aug. 1, 1937, he married Bernice Jante at Waukon.
Mr. Becker served with the U.S. Navy in World War II.
The Beckers moved to Jewell in 1949, opening Becker Furniture and the Becker Funeral Home. He operated the furniture store until 1972. He was still working as a funeral director at the time of his death.
He was a member of the Iowa Funeral Directors Association and recently received his 50-year award. He was also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, the Jewell Lions and the American Legion Post 550.
Survivors are his wife, Bernice; one daughter, Patricia Melchert of Branson, Mo.; one grandson; and one sister, Helen Jante of Rockwell City.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.
