Herbert Dean Autenreith was born July 27, 1916 to Wilbur Higbee and Lois Jean Zelna Harkness Autenreith. He died July 5, 1945 and is memorialized at the Tablets of the Missing, Brittany American Cemetery, Saint James, France. He has a cenotaph in Graceland Cemetery, Union Co., IA.
Sgt. Autenreith served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 862nd Bomber Squadron, 493rd Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/lost at sea.
