Lawrence Rasmus Anderson was born Dec. 6, 1915 to Rasmus John ‘R. J.’ and Anna M. Hia Anderson. He died July 27, 2006 and is buried in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA.
Col. Anderson served with the U.S. Army in World War II and Korea.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Danforth Anderson; son, Dr. Lawrence D. Anderson of Boise, Idaho; daughter, Nancy Cabrera-Santos of Silver Spring, Md.; and five grandsons, Peter and Nathan Anderson, Josh Anderson Lane and David and Christian Cabrera. He is also survived by four sisters, a twin sister, Lois Frazier, Maxine Anderson, Betty Foster and Arlene Harrison.
