Donald Eugene Alvestad was born Mar. 2, 1921 to Henry and Emelia Olga Salverson Alvestad. He died Nov. 30, 1944 and is buried in Lorraine American Cemetery, St. Avold, France.
Lt. Alvestad served in World War II with the U.S. Army Air Corps 369th Bomber Squadron, 390th Bomber Group, Heavy and was MIA/KIA over Germany and awarded the Purple Heart and Air Medal.
