REPORTS BACK TO CAMP
Pvt. James Miller and Pvt. Wayne Wold have reported to Camp Pendleton, Calif., after spending short furloughs with their parents here. Pvt. Miller is the son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Miller, 2526 Avenue A, and Pvt. Wold is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wingate, 2528 West Broadway. The marine corps privates were students at Thomas Jefferson high school prior to enlisting and have just completed their basic training at San Diego, Calif.

KILLED IN ACTION
Pvt. Leslie Wayne Wold, who enlisted in the marines last April, has been reported killed in action on Iwo Jima, according to a report received by his mother, Mrs. Irenia Wingate, 2528 West Broadway. Receiving his basic training at Oceanside, Calif., Pvt. Wold went overseas in August, 1944. A former employe (sic) of the Union Pacific railroad, he is a graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school.
He is survived by his mother; one brother, Radio Technician 2/c Benjamin Wold, now stationed in the Pacific; and his step-father, William A. Wingate.

Body of Leslie Wold Returning
Local Marine Died In Iwo Jima Drive
The body of Pvt. Leslie Wayne Wold, 18, who was killed in action on Iwo Jima in March, 1945, while serving overseas in the U. S. Marine Corps, is enroute to the United States for burial according to notice received by the Cutler Funeral home.
Pvt. Wold is the son of Mrs. Ernie Wingate, Los Angeles, formerly of Council Bluffs.
He was graduated from Thomas Jefferson high school in 1944.
He is also survived by a step-father, Albert Wingate of Los Angeles, and a brother, Benjamin C. Wold of Council Bluffs.
Burial will be in Hillcrest cemetery, Omaha.
