Bluffs Soldier Dies in Africa
Dale Williams, Jr. Leaves a Bride
Technician 5/g Dale Williams, jr., died in north Africa May 22, according to word received here by his wife and parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dale W. Williams, 2500 Avenue E.
Dale Williams was serving with an armored regiment as a radio technician. Before going overseas he was married at Louisville, Ky., to Alice Wright of Council Bluffs.
A volunteer in May, 1942, Williams was a graduate of Thomas Jefferson high school, received his training at Fort Knox, and went overseas early in March.
Besides his wife and parents, he is survived by a brother, Bruce, serving with the marines in the Pacific.

Dale Withers Williams, Jr. was born Jan. 22, 1923 to Dale Withers (Sr.) and Caroline Mae Sellars Williams. He died May 2, 1943 and is buried in North Africa American Cemetery, Tunis, Tunisia and has a cenotaph in Saint Joseph Cemetery, Council Bluffs, IA.
Sgt. Williams served in World War II with the U.S. Army 1st Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division.
