Lt. Bernard E. Weiner

 

Bernard E. Weiner, 2133 Heights avenue, now is a bomber pilot after receiving his wings and second lieutenant’s commission in graduation exercises at the Frederick army air field, Okla.  He completed 10-months of training at the twin-engine advanced school of the central flying command.

In Uniform

Lt. Bernard E. Weiner, son of Mrs. Anne Weiner, 2133 Heights Avenue, has been awarded a second Oak Leaf Cluster to his air medal for meritorious achievement during attacks on Jap airdromes and military installations in the path of allied landing operations on Borneo, Lt. Weiner is a B-24 pilot and plane commander with a group which holds two distinguished unit citations. He was overseas eight months and completed 41 missions. He wears the Philippine liberation ribbon and the Asiatic-Pacific theater ribbon. Prior to entering service in October, 1942, he was a student at Iowa University.
