GETS PROMOTION
George A. Walker, son of Mrs. Marigold Walker, 546 Franklin avenue, received Christmas present from the army Saturday, when he was promoted from major to lieutenant colonel in the army air forces.
Col. Walker has recently returned from Alaska to his base at Elgin Field, Fla. On the trip south, he stopped at Council Bluffs over Christmas to visit his mother.
