Brothers Meet Here First Time in Months
Sgt. Loring A. Stockman has left for Camp Rucker, Ala., where he is stationed in the field artillery, following a 5-day furlough at home visiting his parents, Mr. and Mrs.
E. F. Stockman, 905 Twenty-sixth avenue.
During his stay here his brother, Cpl. Kenneth Stockman, arrived home on a furlough. It was the first reunion of the brothers in 14 months. Kenneth came from Yuma, Ariz., but leaves Monday for Lincoln, Neb. to report for his new assignment.
Sgt. Stockman was joined by his wife, Dorothy, at Newton, Kans., who made the trip with him back to Alabama.

Posthumous Award to Soldier’s Parents
Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Stockman, 905 Twenty-sixth avenue, have received the posthumous award of a purple heart and citation of honor from the U. S. air force for their son, Sgt. Kenneth H. Stockman, 21, killed in action in England Nov. 9.
He was a radio gunner on a B-17.
The family also received a letter from the group chaplain saying their son had been buried with full military honors in the American military cemetery at East Agnlia.

Return Bodies of 4 Local Soldiers
98 Iowans Aboard Lawrence Victory
Bodies of four Council Bluffs soldiers are being returned to the United States from Europe aboard the army transport, Lawrence Victory, the department of the army announced Friday. The vessel will arrive at New York.
Council Bluffs soldiers are being returned: 2nd Lt. Leland J. Evers, son of Albert F. Evers, 908 Avenue H; Sgt. Richard M. Petrus, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Petrus, sr., 219 Frank street; Pfc. Martin Renteria, son of Paul Renteria, 1922 South Fourth street; and Sgt.Kenneth H. Stockman, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. Stockman, 905 Twenty-sixth avenue.
Stockman, Petrus and Evers wee all members of the army air force. Renteria was assigned to the infantry.
A total of 98 Iowa bodies are included in the shipment of 5,374 Americans who lost their lives in Europe.

Kenneth Stockman To be Buried
The body of Sgt. Kenneth H. Stockman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward F. Stockman of 905 Twenty-sixth avenue, is being returned to Council Bluffs for burial services.
Sgt. Stockman was killed in action in England on Nov. 9, 1944, while on duty with the Eighth Air Force. He was a radioman in a bomber group.
Sgt. Stockman was graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school.
Beside his parents he is survived by two brothers Lawrence of Tabor, and Loring of Wichita, Kans.; one sister, Shirley Mae of Council Bluffs; and his grandmother, Mrs. Agnes Steinberger of Council Bluffs.
The body arrives Monday at Cutler funeral home. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 2 p. m. at Cutler Chapel with the Rev. Robert F. Howard officiating. Burial at Walnut Hill Cemetery. The American Legion will perform military services at the graveside.
