Local Youth Is Killed in Action
Kenneth H. Snyder was killed in action on Sept. 29, with the 315th Infantry somewhere in France.
The son of Mr. and Mrs. L. P. Snyder, 523 Fifth avenue, he had been in the service about two years.

Return War Dead Here for Burial
List Includes Six Pottawattamie Men
Bodied of six Pottawattamie county war dead, four from Council Bluffs and one each from Walnut and Oakland, have been returned to the United States aboard the army transport Carroll Victory from Europe.

Pfc. Kenneth Snyder, 22, was killed Sept. 29, 1944 [September 15 on his gravestone], while serving with the 79th infantry regiment in France. He was born in Lincoln, Neb., May 13, 1922. He moved to Council Bluffs with his parents in 1936 and was graduated from Abraham Lincoln high school in 1943. He entered the army in September, 1943.
Survivors are Mr. and Mrs. Leveret P. Snyder, Ambassador Court; one brother, Harold Snyder, at home; and one sister, Mrs. Robert Elliott of Council Bluffs. The body will be shipped to the Geddes mortuary in Grand Island, Neb. Burial will be at Grand Island.
