IN UNIFORM
Pfc. Herbert L. McRae, 2523 ½ Silver street, and Cpl. Ivan N. Seward, 205 Rebecca street, are both with the 57th signal battalion with the Sixth army in Germany. Essentially a wire construction battalion, the 57th also is an operations and a headquarters company. These men began service overseas in February, 1943, at Oran, N. Africa. The battalion has been awarded the Fifth army plaque and clasp in the Italian campaigns.
