SERVICEMEN
Clifford Scholten S 1/c and Seaman John Van Asselt are both on shore leave at Camp Shelton, Virginia, recently, had the pleasure of meeting each other, and enjoyed a visit at the latter’s home. John’s wife and baby are with him.

Clifford Henry Scholten was born June 3, 1926 to Gerrit L. and Clara Van Zandbergen Scholten. He died Oct. 24, 2019 and is buried in Iowa Veterans Cemetery, Adel, IA.
Petty Officer Scholten served in World War II with the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Ascella (AK-137).
