Columbus Junction--
Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Owens of Columbus Junction, received word Saturday from the government that their son, John Owens, was now stationed at San Diego, Calif.

John Samuel Owens was born Nov. 2, 1911 to Samuel and Mary Jane Benson Owens. He died June 7, 1979 and is buried in Columbus City Cemetery, Columbus City, IA.
Pvt. Owens served with the U.S. Army in World War II.
