Cpl. “Swede” Olson, Veteran of Three Battles, Is Home

Cpl. Clarence (“Swede”) Olson, veteran of three major battles in the European theater, is spending a 30-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl H. Olson, 3101 14th street, after serving 18 months overseas with a B-26 Marauder group of the 12th Army air force. He will report for further assignment at Columbia, S. C.

Cpl. Olson, last stationed at Corsica and Sardinia, Italy, was awarded the Croix de Guerre by the French government and his group received two presidential citations for outstanding performances of duty in action.

He was graduated from Central high school in 1943.
