Pfc. Jack O’Leary, Blencoe, Reported Killed in France
Blencoe, Ia.—Special: The War Department Sunday advised Maureen O’Leary that her brother, Pfc. Jack O’Leary, died in France December 21 of wounds suffered in action. O’Leary was a graduate of Blencoe high school in 1939, and was inducted September 2, 1942. He went overseas in September, 1944, and was a member of Gen. Patton’s Third Army.
Requiem mass will be celebrated here at 9 a.m. Saturday at St. Bernard’s Catholic church.

KILLED IN FRANCE
Blencoe, Ia.—Special: Pfc. Jack O’Leary, Third army, killed in France December 21, and for whom a requiem mass will be celebrated at St. Bernard’s Catholic church here Saturday, 9 a.m., was an orphan boy raised by Miss Mary Marley of Blencoe. His mother died when he was 3 years old and his father when he was 8. He was born in Oklahoma City, Okla., August 14, 1920. His sister, Maureen, is his only direct relative.

John J. “Jack” O’Leary was born Aug. 14, 1920 to Joseph and Marguerie Setchell O’Leary. He died Dec. 21, 1944 and is buried in Graceland Cemetery, Blencoe, IA.
