Major Leask to Talk Thursday at Gospel Hall

Maj. George Leask, retired army officer and veteran of fighting in Africa and Italy, will speak Thursday morning to pupils of the Western Avenue Gospel Hall daily vacation Bible school on the topic “Children of Africa and Italy.”

The school is conducted by T. B. Gilbert, Chicago, noted Bible teacher and author, assisted by a staff of teachers. Daily sessions are held Monday through Friday from 9 to 11:30 a. m.

Major and Mrs. Leask have moved to Waterloo from California and are now building a new home in Westlawn addition off Kimball avenue on Hawthorne avenue.

Their son, Pvt. George Leask, Jr., 20, together with Pvt. Raymond Scherwin, 20, also of Waterloo, was killed last Nov. 11 in France when one of them stepped on a land mine as they were serving as litter bearers.
