Lt. Kenneth Irvin Landeck

 

 

 

Lt. Landeck Is Killed In Action
Reported Missing November 30, 1944, Then Dead on Same Date

Lt. Donald R. Landeck, 24, formerly of Sioux City who was previously reported missing in action on November 30, 1944, has now been reported killed in action on that day, according to word received by his aunt, Mrs. E. Rickman, 2500 S. Cornelia street.

Lt. Landeck was graduated from East high school where he was editor of the annual and participated in dramatics.  He was attending North Dakota State college at the time he entered service.  He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ervin Landeck of Fargo, N.D.

He was a pilot in the Eighth air force and was in action in Germany at the time he was killed.  He entered service in December, 1942, and went overseas in August, 1944.

He is survived by his parents in Fargo, one sister, Marjorie in Fargo, and one brother, Lt. Kenneth Landeck, who is now stationed at Roswell, N. M., having just returned from overseas where he completed his missions.  Other survivors are an uncle, Dewey Landeck, his grandmother Mrs. Landeck, and his aunt, Mrs. Rickman, all of Sioux City.

Kenneth Irvin Landeck was born Oct. 31, 1924 to Irvine A. and Mildred Carter Landeck. He died May 2, 1989.
